Our Labico-based company has always been committed to eco-sustainability, implementing environmentally friendly production and processing systems that preserve the product's authenticity and freshness. Throughout its 30-year career, Porretta Farming Company has always cared about the environment and the eco-sustainability of its products.

We use innovative, cutting-edge materials, both in the production process and during the cultivation and construction of new facilities, always with an eye to nature.AND It is precisely for this reason that we want to be the first in Italy to reduce the environmental impact of the packaging used, in the fresh-cut range and beyond, in the cultivated mushroom sector.

In collaboration with Smurfit Kappa, we have now carried out the first tests on a tray that embraces the cause of eco-sustainability, but which at the same time does not imply a change to the manufacturing process.

Installation of photovoltaic systems to reduce emissions

In 2012, we installed our first photovoltaic system for energy generation, followed in 2017 by a second system, which significantly increased the amount of clean energy available to power our production processes. This latest photovoltaic system was installed on our new, state-of-the-art mushroom farm, equipped with advanced instrumentation that optimizes production and reduces its environmental impact, for greater eco-sustainability.

Masters in the field of eco-sustainability

We are constantly focused on creating production systems that are as eco-sustainable as possible, without sacrificing product quality. To this end, we conduct market research and industry studies to optimize every process along our supply chain. One of the phases of greatest interest is packaging. With a view to reducing waste and using eco-friendly materials, we are designing a range of completely green products that will allow us to permanently eliminate the use of plastic.
